Flickering HIDs

I put 6000K HIDs into my projectors yesterday and both bulbs flicker....they don't fully turn off then on but you can notice a slight flicker. I know usually on start up they will flicker untill voltage stabilizes but i went for a half hour ride yesterday and they flickered the whole time. So my question is : Will a relay harness help at all? On my 9007 hid kit there was a relay harness and it never flickered. Thanks in advance

hmmm that's weird...mine only flicker when my seat belt warning starts beeping at me. But another odd thing about mine is when they are on, the radio gets static like crazy.

Re: HID lights flickering

For the record I am a mobile electronics certified professional. I have a 2007 Cobalt with HID's all around including the fog lamps. What you need to do to get rid of the flickering is relay trigger the low and high beams. What is happening is that you are trying to turn the ballasts on with too low of current from the factory set up whereas it would work fine for factory bulbs but not HID conversion kits.

Awesome, Thanks. I ordered a relay harness last week. I hope it ends up being that.

it also might just be ur cutoff line and u think its flickering. when u look at the HIDs with ur car still do they flicker?

no, I have had projectors for 2 weeks now. The light flickers slightly even when the car is stopped.
