Fog Light Issue
ok so i have had an HID kit in my fogs for about 8-9 months now, they worked great, until recently they stopped working, so i investigated a little bit and realized they blew the fuse, so i put a new one in, then turn them back on, driver one lights up, passenger one doesnt, then it blows another fuse....hmmmm so i put a 30amp fuse in it instead of the 20 it requires, same thing but this time the passenger one works and the driver one doesnt! then it blows the 30amp fuse too! i have tried switching the ballasts around and same issue.....
Just wondering if anyone knows how i might be able to trace this problem down or were to go next before i take it to the dealership.
Thanks for the help.

Hmmm...
So they stay on for a little while and then blow the fuse??
Stop adding bigger fuses, that'll lead to more problems.
It sounds like it's drawing too much current and the first thing that pops to mind is bad grounds. I'd check your grounds and make sure they are clean of rust and corrosion first. If you see any of that at all sand it down with some 400 grit sand paper and then reattach the grounds. Also, check the whole wiring harness for the HID's to make sure they are not chaffing on anything and shorting out. Check the connectors for corrosion as well. Lastly, take the bulbs out and check for corrosion there too. Clean every connection with good electrical cleaner.
