Foreign object inside SS/SC wing

Whenever I open or close my trunk, I can hear something rolling around inside my wing, in the long bridge-like part that stretches across the trunk. I searched the forums and found only a couple posts with the same problem, but may have just been ice inside for them. Where I live it doesn't get cold enough to be that, and anyway I've had object rolling around in there since I bought the car over the summer. I found this post with a guy here with what sounds exactly what I have:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...hlight=spoiler
Unfortunately, it seems his problem was not solved unless I have not found it. My question is does anyone else have a foreign object rolling around inside of their wing? Has anybody solved the matter? Any way to safely disassemble the wing so I can get this irritating little piece out of there?

This might sound dumb, but go to the hardware store and buy a couple of cans of expanding foam insulation. drill a small hole (or maybe one at each end) on the bottom of the wing and fill that sucker up with foam.If there is something in there, it aint going to rattle now! The foam will probably expand out of the hole, but when it gets hard you can shave it off with a razor blade and touch it up with a little paint and no one will know. Don't worry about the foam distorting the wing, it won't, it will just fill the cavity.

Very interesting solution, that could work. I found out through a couple of PMs that even if I took the wing off the bottom of the spoiler where it mounts, it still lacks any sort of opening down there which I could shake it out. I wonder if the dealer would even be able to do anything about it? It's not that big of a deal, just annoying.

^^Because like he just said, there is no opening in the wing.

why not just take it to a dealer and let your warranty cover it

if you take the "wing" off of the "towers" you should be able to shake it out...

that is actually some good thinking. Seems pretty easy. But, I would still probably take it to the dealer.

How does it come off? There is an "insert" or painted panel on each side of the towers, but how are they attached on there and if I remove them are there bolts underneath to where I can diconnect the bridge? I haven't been able to find this information. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I thought I had the same problem a while back..check your antenna, mine was loose and rattled like a bastard. I have to tighten it every day before I leave home.

If there is a way to pry it apart, make it into a How-To because if it has happened once, it will happen again.

I install windows and doors, and do service work for 2 window companies, we use expansion foam every day. You would be surprised how much expansion foam warps anything plyable. But our wings may be rigid enough and it may be perfectly fine.... Personally, I wouldn't do this.
