Thumbs down Huge problem HELP PLEASE

ok heres the deal.
yesterday i was driving my car and out of no where my rpm gauge just stopped working. my car shut off on me out of the blue and i couldnt start it back up. i pulled over and waited 5 mins then it started. my friend who was with me was at the back of my car and said holy sh*t dude black smoke. i looked back and every time i reved it black smoke and particals came out of my exhaust. it did that for about 5 mins then it was ok. about 30 miles later my car got very quite. i have an exhaust and my car is usually very loud. then all of a sudden i could here my super charger getting very loud. so i think i clouged up my catlitic converter. then last night i was driving and decided to get on it to see if its ok. well i have no horsepower. my grl has the cobalt ls and her car is faster. i was looking at my boost gauge and it went all the way up to 20psi and all of a sudden my car like started to sputter and it sounded like my exhaust was gonna fly off. i dont know what it can be now. my cat doesnt get red like its clogged but my super charger is hellishy over working its self. i never heard it sound so loud. btw i have the stock intake.
What is the deal with my car. it has 28000 miles on it and its a 06 not even a year old yet. any help will be nice. it will be goin to the dealer tommrow cuz of xmas no dealers open. What a christmas present i got.

hmmm black smoke normally means it's running rich. if your fuel injectors stuck open it could have dumped too much gas into the cylinders and fouled your plugs. it could also be the cat which could have been caused by the car running rich. did you hit your rev limiter any time not too long before this happened? sometimes that will **** **** up if you hit the limiter hard. thanks my two cents!

ooo just thought of something else check your air filter. if that's all plugged up it would xause your car to work overtime getting air in and could cause a rich condition because of the lack of air. think about trying to suck a milkshake through a straw that someone is pinching closed.

i've heard about this happening after bouncing off the rev limiter hard. kinda sounds like it's in limp mode.

Now i know it isnt in limp mode cuz then it just wouldnt have power. like when i floor it and i get to up around 4 n half grand my car starts to sputter and buck and it sounds like my exhaust is gonna fall off.

Well, if your boost is going up to 20 psi stock, this means that you have a problem in the exhaust. I am pretty sure the cat is clogged (especially if you were throwing out black smoke which is unburnt fuel). One of your injectors might be stuck open also to cause your cat to go bad so soon. I would just take it to GM tommorrow because there is nothing you can do about it yourself.

The cat is definitely clogged. Pull the downpipe out, and turn it over. I bet a nice amount of stuff will come out. Either punch it the rest of the way out, or get a new downpipe. I would not drive it and especially not boost until you do so.

my car went into limp and i had a bad knock (kr) at the same time it was rly bad so it threw it into limp mode and my cps got fucked in the midst to

i reset it first by unplugging the battery then fixed the cars compy in the car with hptuners

If you felt like you had a broken leg....would you go run a 100m dash to see if it hurts?

Some one told me you can check if your cat is clogged by checking the exhaust pressure
through the O2 sensor hole with a pressure gauge 2-5 psi good over 5psi probably clogged.

Just another way GM waste money... probably could of just changed the cat but decided to throw money at a problem until it's fixed.
