so i purchased the injen CAI for the ss/sc...had it installed and love it..next day..CEL.....(check engine light) unplugged the battery and had the ecu restart and it was gone...next day,....CEL ...we get a code reader..identifies it as 171 meaning my engine is running too lean...more air thatn the fuel ratio can handle..so i leave my battery unplugged overnight...give the ecu longer to restart..everything was fine..until....CEl so now i dont know what to do ive tried every trick in the books....and on the forums...grr
dude that sucks and is kinda odd. I put my injen on like 8 months ago and have NEVER had a CEL. is it possible u forgot to hook up something or maybe got finger prints all over the M.A.S. ??

is yours an 05 or a 06 because i had the same problem with my 05 and took it into the dealer they scanned the new code and it has not come up since but i also have stage 2 so i was pretty much flashed twice now so dont expect any codes but the 05 code should do the trick.
My friend, you're not the first, and by far, won't ever be the last, to get the legendary P0171 DTC because of an aftermarket CAI. Give the MAF some time to adjust to the increased air volume and the CEL's will eventually be less in frequency and over a period of about 6 months will evenutally disappear. In the meantime, performance should not be affected with the CEL on...also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest into some type of scanner if you plan to further modify the car
Forgot to mention after i installed my Injen and hooked the battery back up i let the car idle for about 20 minutes to get used to its new found breath. I also just read you said u "Had it installed", meaning u didnt do it?? I dont let anyone touch my car but me cause i believe that is why stuff like this happens.

Your Injen should not give you a CEL. If so, you have installed it wrong, and you need to check all your work. Are you sure you put the MAF in correctly, are all your clamps tight, and did you check to see if the filter got oil in you MAF? I used an AEM dryflow filter so I didn't get oil in the MAF.
the aem dry flow is the way to go, i had a oil filter on other car and put a catch can on it and you would be surprised as to the crap those filters put out. If you have anything on your mas you will throw a code..
AEM dryflwo sucked on my car,
water gets in there much easier due to the non oil based filter and material, when it rained i was screwed and the car ran like shat, granted i ahve the jbp intake for now, swtiched over to the filter provided and no problems since.
