has anyone had this problem the last 3 nights i have gotten into my car in the morning after work and it has only been about -8 or so last few night and i didnt experience this at all when it has been -35 for a week straight never had a problem but the last 3 nights i go to get in my car in the morning and i cant move the shifter at all its like frozen solid and after fighting with it it kinda loosens up then after letting it warm up and drving around for 15 mins its back to normal does anyone know what this could be

 

moisture in the shifter cables. happens every night when its below freezing for me.

When the tranny fluid is cold, my subaru shifts sluggishly and sometimes locks me out. It won't tolerate much rev difference between the driven and driving shafts. The synchros are very angry basically.
