Fuel Gauge

I filled my tank this morning and the guy topped it off after the nozzle clicked. car was fine then when i got to my freinds house i shut it off while waiting for him. when i turned it back on it read empty. i drove it and the low fuel message came on. tried to add more fuel but it was full. now as i drive the car it says im gaining fuel, almost if the sender is reading backwards. anyone had this problem?

unplug your battery. this happened to mine but never again after i disconnected the battery. also tell that gas pump attendant to not ******* top it off! lol, in all seriousness when they top it off it could damage your EVAP system(depending how much they top it off) and get fuel into the charcoal canister which could mean that you would have to get a new one. make sure they dont top it off like that

You should let it sit removed for at least 15 minutes
