Question Fuel Leak

Ok, I defenatly have a fuel leak in my 06 SS/SC

I noticed that my garage smells like fuel only when my car is in it. That eliminates the lawn mower and the gas can. Lately my car has been hard starting. But only when it hasnt been running for a while, and only if you try to start it without turning the key on and waiting a few seconds for the fuel pump to go. When you wait till the fuel pump cuts out, the pressure drops rather rapidly sometimes faster then others, however even waiting till the pressure is down to 20psi or so, it starts fine, as long as you dont just get in and try to start it right away when it's cold. This morning I let it roll down my driveway and poped the clutch and it seemed to start pretty good. So I dont know if the fuel issue is related to the starting or not.
Any ideas? I mean obviously first thing im going to do is remove the fittings and line and fuel pressure sensor i installed to eliminate that, but I doubt that is where my leak is.
Also: No MIL and No Codes

That would explain alot, Also I found that Im not suposed to lose more then 5 psi in 1 minute. I'm losing WAY more then that. (With pump off)
Thanks, I'll look for that, where should I look exactly? On lthe fuel line between the fuel filter and the gas tank?

EXCELLENT! I just found a letter in my records from Chevy/GM saying they will fix that at no charge providing I its not 2015 yet, or that I have not exceeded 120, 000 miles.
Hopefully I can schedual an appointment for monday.

Yup that's it. Just found it after a brief visual inspection. It's leaking where the lines come out of the fuel tank. There is even a small wet spot on the ground. I'm going to have to call the dealership monday to make an appointment. I still have the letter saying they will fix it for free. Thanks. This explains EVERYTHING. The hard starting, yet the ok starting once its been running. (Even with low pressure the system would still be primed.) and the faliure of the fuel pressure bleed down check (50 to 45psi must take at minimum 1 minute) and the decrease in fuel economey.
Thanks,

Update: Fuel Pump Modual was replaced by the Dealership at no cost to me. No more fuel smell, starting is good, system holds fuel prime pressure, and no fuel leak

Hey everyone, in case anyone else runs into this problem, and your vin is within the break point parameters, the dealer WILL fix this at no cost, even if they initially say for some reason they cant for your car. just talk to a service manager and they will contact gm, because this is a safety issue. don't take no for an answer.

Glad to hear you got yours fixed. My car smells like gas BAD inside and out. I read on the TSB that VA isn't covered, (dumb). Im going to talk to my dealership tomorrow about this tho. I can see gas on tho bottom of my tank so its leaking pretty bad IMO.

i am just now having this problem. i have an 07 ss/sc and i thought at first that it was a crack in the tank or something stupid but now i see what it exactly is cuz all of the stuff you explained is exactly whats happening to me. mine wont start unless i turn the key over and wait for the fuel pump. so the dealership should fix it for free? will my aftermarket parts void it?

They didn't say **** about mine. It's a known issue, so they know that aftermarket stuff isnt going to effect it. I could see if you changed your fuel pressure they might have a problem though. Or modified to a return style system
