FYI onstar told me my airbag was f'ed
onstar ran a diagnostic on my car and found my airbag system was in error...
however there was no light on the dash.
brought it to dealer and had it scanned.
ended up being my airbag module was bad.
replaced under warranty.
thanks to onstar because i wouldnt have had it scanned anytime soon...

Definately. Coulda sued the dealership that sold you the car, onstar if they didnt tell you it was screwed, GM/Chevy itself, + the manufacturer of the airbag/module.
You woulda been sittin pretty.
You coulda hit a telephone pole going 25mph...or you coulda tboned somebody...and you coulda sued.
I knew a guy who sued ford because his airbag went off prematurely just drivin down the road. Comes to find out, his module was bad. After he sued, he settled with a 20 million dollars, and stopped talkin to me
if you were seriously injured from the result of the airbag not deploying i could see a decent sized settlement, but if your not injured why would they pay??? and what if the airbag light has been on for some time, or the owner of the vehicle chooses not to get the system repaired??? is that the fault of gm??? no its not.

Yes, if the light was on, you'd have no case since there was a visual warning.
If you hit something as slow as 25mph to where normally the airbags would have deployed..but they did not.
Your lawyer will do the "what ifs"....
"What if"...i was going 65mph
"What if"...my wife was driving.
"What if"...my son was in the car.
"What if"...I had seriously been injured.
All those things will get a decent settlement out of.
It is the manufacturers responsibility to ensure that they sell you a quality car. Not one that looks nice, gets 300mpg, but if you get into a car accident where anyone should have lived with an airbag, you die.
As in the case of my (ex)buddies incident, he was stopped at a red light when it went off.
Causing it to rub his skin off on his forearms.
Those things come out fast as hell, so if your holding your steering wheel at the "10 & 2" position like the DMV teaches you too...when that airbag goes off, it'll mess up your arms pretty bad.
