Good Ole Stealership Run Around

So when I got my car a couple ago, after driving it for a while it started doing this thing where it would flutter and lose all power gain when driving. Only for a couple of seconds. So I bring it to Autozone get the code read, PO301, misfire situation or something. Bring it to the dealerl, they say nothings wrong blah blah blah, pay $150 and walk out the door. Not even a mile down the road, car bogs and loses its gain. Turn around bring it back and they run an injector cleaning and balancing diagnostic, with no refund.

It ran good for a little while until yesterday. Driving from work to AutoZone on lunch yesterday (literally a mile drive in a 45mph zone) I'm doing about 20mph in 2nd gear. Easing my way up to 45ish. Than boom, is loses all gain and flutters and all sorts of fun stuff.

Bring it to the dealership this morning and they tell me they cannot diagnose the car because it has passed 5500rpms in its past and will void the warranty due to abuse. They then tell me that I should never reach 5,500 rpms. I tell them 5500rpms has nothing to do with the code beings it happens mainly in lower gears (such as 2nd gear around 30mph). Basically it boiled down to "Have a nice day, F U" situation.

Does anyone know anything about this whole 5500 rpm void warranty deal, and what it may have to do with me? Needless, to say my car is bogging in lower gears and sometimes higher gears. Not everytime, just occasionally.

BTW, 100k powertrain warranty (if i even still have one lol)
VROOM VROOM.

Me either, the service employee said it could void all warranty due to over abuse of the engine. He also insinuated I was trying to get a free engine out of Chevy. Big WTF moment.

Tell them 5500 is under the redline and people hit that everyday, everywhere, all the time. You are getting royally screwed my friend.

From Southeast Louisiana. And I'm 22. I know enough to get me by lol. I am certain it's injectors but they won't even attempt to put me new ones in the car.

They can not void a warranty on something that was installed from the factory to do (meaning the rev limiter). it would be different if they took the car and saw that you brought it up to 7200K (which would mean that there are different valve springs in there). I would go to a different dealership if you still have your 100K powertrain. Either that or contact GM directly. Explain to them that the issue you are experiencing is one that could cause an accident and you have been turned down twice by the same dealership. That might get their attention.

This is what I thought. He also said that he never has to get above 5k in his full size truck. WTF full size truck you prolly redline @ 5k.

My thinking is that launch control WOTBOX feature revs to 5k. Now if the car itself has a feature to rev to 5k on a LAUNCH. Why the hell would 5.5k break warranty?

Turned down 4 times in all for the same problem. Only have receipts for 2 times though.

obviously your not bitching at them loud enough....

id create a scene, ask for the manager, start questioning him, then have him call gm themselves, or call and make a complaint on speaker phone right in front of him, or while in the showroom, and start telling people at the dealership ( other customers ) my situation until stuff started getting fixed

well contacting a GM rep would be the best thing probably since the dealership does not know what is going on.

I hope this is a joke. Things like this make me question how ******* stupid people can be now days. If its not a joke, tell the dealership to get all new workers because they obviously suck.

They cannot void your warranty for revving an engine to where it's designed. That is not classified as abuse. You do not have catastrophic engine failure due to racing and an over-rev condition or anything like that so their case holds no water.

Go to customer service and start the process.

This dealership is screwing you BAD. Give name so everyone can know and steer clear.

R0bert Levis Chevrolet. Slidell, LA.

If anyone can refer me to a Good Service dealership it would be appreciated. I'll be in contact with GM sometime this evening hopefully.
Thanks for everyone's input. I was beginning to doubt myself about being right in the situation. Glad I put this info out there.

Don't back down from the dealership now a days. They try to void any and all warranty on the vehicle. Warranty work doesn't pay the same as regular shop stuff

My brother works at a Honda dealership, and last night he told me that they can only void the warranty if an aftermarket part causes the issue. So say your tuned and this happened, then you would be screwed. They have to prove that it was the aftermarket part causing the issue.

So basically what they are doing is a bunch of bullshit and I guarantee 1 call to gm customer service would make them happy to do your work

That dealership you took your car to is full of it. I never heard of such thing, revving the engine to 5500 is nothing, it's designed for that. I took my car in for service at the dealer until my warranty was over. they have replaced brakes, one transmission mount, and a few other little things here and there and I was never charged a penny for their work. I would try to get that 150 dollars back also.
