The thing is when a purchase the car the previous owner told me that he just recently deleted the balance shaft of the car. I was wondering if maybe the balance shaft are connected with de crank sensor and that's why is giving me the code of P0340. I found that some Gm engine have the sensor working with balance shafts

Balance shaft is completely different from the harmonic balancer/crank pulley. Also googled P0340 and it comes up with "camshaft position sensor malfunction"

How does the car run? You have to take of the timing chain to get to the balance shaft chain. Is there a possibility that the previous owner didn't get the cams timed correctly?

its a balance shaft delete as jdbaugh1 is saying above.

I can guarantee that the reassembly of the cam shafts and sensor was not done correctly.
