headlamp replacement 2010 ss

Ok, i have the assembly out but i cannot catch the bottom 2 clips reinstalling..

This is by far a poor desighn for changing headlamps should not be this difficult.. worst part is trying not to scuff the paint..

Any help with hints on catching the two clips would be apreciated..

Thank's..

you really gotta play with it, thats the best I can say... and you're def right lol

If you look on youtube, theres a vid of a guy doin it and thats how I got the steps down.

put the inside in first at an angle, an then wiggle the backside in until you can slide it in.
If the clips arent catching, you're 2 high

I agree, the design for headlight replacement is not the best.

I don't remember any bottom clips on the headlight assembly. I just remember sliding the headlight in and fighting with the front clip so I didn't scratch the paint, then just putting the bolts back in.

I also had a hell of a time when I replaced mine. I watched this video and read up on it, but I think fitment is different on each individual car...or so it would seem. The one in this video went in so much easier than mine did.

Link to youtube video (I think this guy is a user on here too. Maybe NCC-2000, but not sure though.):

my front bumper holds it up, when you do clear the bumper the clips are too far back..

i will watch the vid..

thank's..

Ok watched the vid, if they were all built like his we would have no problem.. thats not happening already tried that his bottom clips catch very easy, the reciever mount on mine is much lower in relation to the bumper cover.. i looked at my drivers side and it looks much easier than the pass side..their is more clearance around the light..

my light also makes hard contact with the fender..

i finaly got it to go back in, the pass side sits very low in the bumper cover..

drivers side snaps right in..going to have to look at why the pass side bumper cover sits so high may even contact the dealer to repair..

When I first got my 2010 SS I had the same problem. The passenger side bumper cover sat "higher" than the driver side. I took it in and they tweaked some **** and made it fit right.
