Headlights shut off with blinker

When I have my high beams on and I turn on my right blinker all of my headlights shut off except for the fog lights( if i have them on). If i turn my left blinker on nothing happens. The headlights only shut off when the high beams are on tho. I have no idea what is going on. Does anyone have this problem or heard of it?

almost positive this is a malfunctioning multi-switch.

Im going to say it needs to be replaced. lots of cobalts have had problems with it.

^^^ X2

Really the only place the 2 circuits come together, would be the first thing I looked at.
Would be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty if you still have it.

They might good will it, you never know unless you ask.

Never replaced the multi switch on a Cobalt but the ones I have done were pretty easy, just need to split the cover on the steering column. The part itself should not cost very much either, check your local auto parts place.

Just checked rockauto.com, they list:

ACDELCO Part # D6212E {replaces 15841544 #10362761, 15841544, 15915857}
SWITCH,T/SIG & HDLP DIMR

Think that is the one you are after.

About $31.00 but it is just the switch, does not include the stalk or any harness.

The whole assembly is around $300.00 iirc.
