Headunit Help Please!!!

Im trying to get a new Headunit in my car soo i can get some better sound. I know theres all kind of adapters that you need but i have not idea where to even start.

Heres the headunit im looking at buying:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1141762609012

I looked at the search best buy has and this is the only adapter they have:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1108126081704

Not even sure if that adapter will fit because it says for the cars with no onstar and i do have onstar. Its 1 year subscription is over so im not sure if that will make a difference or not. I want to be able to have an aftermarket headunit with all the steering wheel controls to work and not have to worry about the air bags not working. Any idea or help on what i need to buy to get this setup right let me know. Thanks

if you have onstar and wish to keep it you will have to get a special adapter. However this adapter is like $180 at crutchfield.com not sure of anywhere else you could get it at for a possibly lower price

you will need a GMOS-LAN-03 OR GMOS-LAN-04 version. I have a 2007 and i am having the same issues but go to metraonline.com and they will tell you exactly what you need. There the manufacturer that designs the parts. It will cost around $100 online. Best buy told me i needed a DCGMO9B which is not even close. That is for a gm 2001-2003 which will not fit. I had a few places in dallas turn me away and said they cant do it, LOL.

The ones above are without onstar i think the -02 will be wiht the onstar. Just visit the link above and call them and they will get you hooked up. I dont think bestbuy would beable to install one in my 07 and would be scared so i called other places and none of them even have it or carry it since its a special harness.

well i hope you got it working. I just contacted metra and i ordered the GMOS-LAN-03 for my car for my 2007. They are the ones that manufacture it and said they have had it about 5 months ago.

So i will let everyone know if it works for me, it costed me $120 shipped for it.

i seriously doubt that will fit. So your saying gm cars for all those years are the same. I wanted all my stock stuff to stay working and mine should now because i got the right adapter coming. So far the only company i know you can get one is metra and they tell me the 07/06 will not work with the 01 or 02. So im just trying to help you out to get the right one. When you call metra, the first things they ask are what year is your car, does it have onstar, does it have pioneer audio system.

I am trying to install a Kenwood in dash monitor but getting no sound. I need to figure out how to send signal through the factory amp. Please help. If I plug a speaker directly to the headunit I get sound but I dont want to rewire the whole system. I dont have the money right now to rewire and buy all new speakers at the moment. Right now my headunit is an expensive paperweight.

If I install an aftermarket receiver and aftermarket amplifier, does it matter which part I get between the 03 and 04 lan? I have the pioneer/w onstar.
