AC falling apart

so saturday I was at work and one of my guys called out from out side and said my air con condenser was falling apart. and im like what? so i go out side and look under my car and my fn stock heat exchanger (pretty sure thats what it is, the outer most radiator thingy that sits infront of the car) is falling apart. It looks like the passanger side end cap just let loose and dropped about 3 rows of cooling fins out the bottom.

i honestly dont know how its been like this so i dont know if i screwd any thing up. my temps seem to be alright although its been really hot out, 93 today. i called the stealership and they say they can have it in today to look at it, no rental of course so il have to find my own ride to all my finals this week. there is no way they can repair this without takin the front of my car apart. also there is no way i could have hit something for id have to smoke my bumper first.

im scared theyr going to tell me its not waranted because im over 40k miles, like they said about my headlights keep blowing. but im keeping my head high and hoping for the best.

i guess i made this thread to rant about my problems but i always want to see if any one else has had a problem with this. i dont think iv really heard of this happening but i could be wrong. I should just upgrade to a C/A unit but funds suck ***** at the end of the year when student loans are due.
any input wouild be the ****

just got back. they are trying to say i drilled something in the road because of the scrapes on the bottom of my bumper, but the exchanger sits about 4 inches above. made me leave it there diddnt tell me any info on when i might think about getting it back. my next mod is for sure going to be a lower grill.

SCREW GM. ok my family has been involved with GM working there for over 75 years. my mom was the general manager of the janesville wisconsin plant where they build the tahoe and burbon for over 10 years befor she moved down here to the wentzville plant. we go in there yestterday to see what happened with my car. guy comes out says he cant do any thing with that becasue " You hit something really hard". and i have no warantee what so ever left. then he handed me a bill for $259 for just looking at it for 2 days. bull the cooling finds coroaded away, there is rust lining every fin and no physical damage that would sugest that i hit something. now im stuck with a broke ass car and no money at the moment to fix it. its an 06 with 42k miles. i diddnt know buying a new car would mean in 2 years that i would be on my own to fix it. im going to try a differnt dealership . my moms went into work today to bitch about the bill and rental car fee. guess this means im getting a new car, one with an actaul warantee. THANKS LOU FUZS CHEVY bastards

3 yrs/36K miles was the warranty on teh car last i checked...unless you paid for the silly 5/100 warranty.

So right there you are outta warranty. Did you put the lower grill insert to help prevent little critters from hitting the condensor?
