heat smells

its not for a cobalt is for my 2000 blazer i was wondering if anyone could help

today i was driveing and my heat went from normal to smelling like coolant. the temp hasint moved theres no leaking in the motor so im not sure what happen. when i first bought the truck there was no heat to i took it to chevy and they said my heater core was pluged and the radiator. so they flushed it all and its been great. last week i started hearing sounds like water running in the dash and i wasint sure what that was.

if your smelling coolant in the vehicle your heater core is toast.

i told the dealer the first time to change the heater core and they told me it was fine. so now its broken so they have to change it now. they tryed to get around not haveing to change it but that failed.

Good luck with getting them to do it on the house, LOL.

Why does everyone think shops try to get out of doing repair work? You realize that a large percentage of techs only get paid when they actually turn wrnches right? why on earth would so many techs turn down jobs?


The reason you hear water moving is because there is air in the cooling system.

If you need to get the heater core replaced, expect to foot the bill for 9 hours labor, and probably $100-160 in parts

i ended up changeing it myself. i started yesterday and just finished up now. what a pain that was has. no im just going to call the dealer and tell them there a bunch of asses. the truck is under warrenty still and they didnt want to do the job. so i did it myself.
