My clutch pedal has pressure but when I push it in, it doesn't engage. But then sometimes it works fine. Have any idea?

Car is in gear while the shifter is in neutral. Even when the clutch is pressed.

alright dude, does the shifter come out of first gear and into neutral smooth? when you start the car does it start hard or like normal? a couple years ago i had the slave cylinder go out on me in my company truck (TOB is the same idea) and i couldn't get it out of gear for the life of me and if i tried to start it the truck would crank and crank and when it finally started it would jerk and the only way to stop would be to shut it off. maybe that helps you narrow it down

 

It won't shift into neutral all the time smooth. Its either a tob or slave cylinder.
