HELP! alarm and remote issue.

This whole thing happened last week.

Sept 28/06
- While on school property, I somehow managed to lose the Factory alarm remote ( I still have the key though ).

Sept 29/06
- I looked all over the school and never found it, my dad gave me some money to get an aftermarket alarm (way back when someone tried to steal my system) So I was shopping around and decided to get a viper 5000 alarm. They installed it this same day.

Oct 04/06
- During my first period class (9:00- 10:15) Someone (who has the factory remote) opened my trunk, and took my subwoofer amp. The parking lot is sorta far from the part of school I was in and I was given no warning.

Sameday 10:15
- When I come outside, to get my books from my car, I press unlock on my alarm, and right away the pager tells me that someone had opened the door, and had opened the trunk. So I'm thinking WTF, I go look in my trunk to see my amp missing.

Is there anyway I can disable factory keyless remotes from opening doors/and trunk? I have a meeting with the principle tommorow, maybe he can pull something from video surveilance. But other than that is there anything I can do???

The only way possible to disable the factory remote would have to be done by the dealer. I don't know if that is even a possiblity though.

I asked my dealership if they can get rid of it. They told me $105+ tax and they program something.... he's like they need 4 hours

I think they can just change the code and give you a new remote and the old one will not work. Do you have another remote that came with it? Maybe there is a fuse for the factory security system try to take it out and see if your other factory remote works.

I could be totally wrong...

They will probably charge just as much to change the code and the remotes... There isn't a fuse to disable the factory alarm. I wouldn't mess around with disabling the alarm yourself unless you wish to make your car undrivable.

The dealer would be able to invalidate both factory remotes for you with a Tech 2. They might charge you, but it should be no more than 1/2 hour labor. I would do it myself if someone needed, at no charge. It takes maybe 10 minutes, as long as you have the tools. Do keep in mind that the Tech 2 is a $2000. tool, so they deserve something for using it.
