Question HELP: Headlight Problem!

Im having a curious problem with my driver side head light.

Both headlights comes on when i unlock my doors like normal, but when i start my car the driver side headlight turns off. Brights still work, and if i shut the car off lock it up, and unlock it the light works again till i start the car...Then boom off again?!? Replaced it with a stock bulb and everything works even when i start the car...

I just find it weird that the bulb works w/ the courtesy lights, and the brights work even if the car is running, but the bulb shuts off as soon as i start the car.

They are aftermarket bulbs, i don't know what kind for sure i got the from a friend...

The first situation I think the bcm turns the lights on .
Its sound weird though ,do a ohm check between the after market bulb and the stock one to see what the difference is.This could have something to do with it.
Are you sure you have the right after market bulbs for our car.

Could they be a brighter/more wattage bulb? The BCM or the Headlamp relays might see too much amerage goin through it and the relay kicks off.

edit: Have you swapped your left from your right to see if the problem is in the right side after the swap. If so, that might eliminate wiring and stuff.

The headlight that dosnt work is burnt out. I had this happen to me except it was a little different. When you unlock your car and the lights come on those are your brights. So when it happened to me id unlock my car and only one would light up, but when id start my car both would light up. I threw out those headlights and went and got some new ones and now they work again.

^^ yup hes right.
the lights for unlock are your brights. thats whats confusing you.
having projectors makes this glaringly obvious because they are separate bulbs, but with a single bulb/double filament its not so evident.

your low beam filament is gone in one of the bulbs.

you low beam filament is blown same thing happened to me, you gonna have to replace the light bulb, reason that they work when you unlock with the key is because they use high beams for that.

Dont touch them with your fingers

You know you can't touch them with your fingers. The oil from your fingers creates a hot spot and causes them to blow prematurely.

When you use the unlock feature, the headlights use the brights. So your low beam coil probably blew
