Help.. Reverse Issue....
Help.. Reverse Issue....
Hello Everyone,
I just want to know if anyone ever experienced a problem like this before in the 2.0 SS/SC.
So i upgraded my clutch to the GMPP clutch kit & flywheel and also got the lnf shifter bracket.
After installing the parts I notice my shifts needed to be re-adjusted so i re-adjusted and now all the gears shifts fine 1-5 without any issues but the car will not go in reverse (yes I am pulling up the reverse lockout on the shifter) but it will NOT in place, BUT when i turn off the car and put the shifter in reverse it will go in without any problem there i would have to turn on the car while in reverse to reverse my car...
I rechecked the shift linkage and the shifter bracket multiple times and everything seems in place correctly. But when the car is on it will not allow me to put in reverse vs. when the car is off it will go in fine.
Any ideas on what i may need to buy or try next? I am using the stock shifter. Any suggestions would be a GREAT amount of help.
Thank you

This sounds so rudimentary, but try to put it in first gear (keep foot on the clutch). Then, when you go to neutral (while keeping your foot on the clutch), hold it for a 5-count. Finally, put it in reverse.
Report back if it helps.

Ive always had that problem... I usually jus put in 1st let it roll forward a lil when it rolls back i hit reverse... Dealer told me that since its a non syncro gear that why its like that
When that happens I just let up a little on the clutch pedal and it goes in, but this doesn't happen every time just about 1 in 20 times. Still on original clutch at 83K and looking to replace and have not had this problem on any other vehicles that I have owned. Sorry I couldn't help, but bleeding system and readjustment is what I would try since it is a new clutch.
I'm having the same problem. South Bend stage 4 clutch aluminum flywheel new tob and Powell just rebuilt my gearbox. Did you come to any conclusions? I am replacing the clutch master cylinder tonight hoping it's leaking internally and not holding pressure. After that I think I'm heading back to Powell.
