help. Zfr installed now issue

I just installed zfr and am getting trifecta tuned. One issue I'm having that trifecta says it can't see, when I get up to about 5k rpm my car backfires and looses power for a second. Anyone know what it could be?

Did it sound like compressure surge kinda? Like u could hear turbine blades smacking the air? Cause I'm hearing that , not loud but I hear it. My plugs are gapped to .030 , what should I gap em to? And trifecta is tuning me, I'm hoping they can fix this or I'm gonna have to buy hpt and remote tune with someone

Is 2.2 coils same as the 2.0 or does the 2.4 and 2.0 only share same coil packs

We actually ended up getting more power out of my car with the plugs gapped at .28 and running 25-26lbs compared to stock gap at 27-28lbs on my zfr.

ok boys, I tried with spark plugs at both .032, which worked fine with k04 and I tried at .028 the surging is not there, but its back firing like crazy and still bucking a little bit when it backfires. 2nd gear didn't seem to buck at all but it backfired. all this is over 20 psi boost, stock 15 psi doesn't do it.

well I tried switch coil packs, had some from a 2.2 motor I have sitting around. now I just have backfire, no surge, just backfire an bucking a little, car maintains boost while this is happening.

No codes at all, not even misfire showing up on my intercepter. But I will goto the actual misfire screen where it shows all the cylinders and check later to.

I did a little run driving to work today, without 23 psi tune activated, as soon as i hit 5k rpm , backfire. So 15 psi stockish tune does this at 5k rpm and 23 psi tune does it over 20 psi. So tune issue? Not getting strong enough spark? Fuel injectors or seals? I had non of these issues on k04 at even 24 psi. Sent a log to Vince's email, see what he says, emailed zzp to see if they have advice. Waiting back on everyone

i was getting some bucking at wot at 5k rpm and up but I'm on stock turbo full bolt ons and trifecta tune and about 50k miles on the car. i pulled my intake manifold and my valves were really gummed up so i did the how to on them and it seems like the bulking went away at the higher rpm at wot. i have the select tune on my car and on the stock tune my car would be fine but if i turned on the tune it would bulk at high rpm. i had vince check it and all was good.

My motor only had 25k Kms on it and I had no issues before the zfr so idk if that would be it. Plus got the Powell oil separator installed , 2 months ago so no more oil going into pipes. I may have to check anyway

Trifecta thinks it's a boost leak and or injector seals going bad. I do run gas with 10% ethonal, so seals could be being eaten away. What u guys think

most gas companies use 10% ethanol in their gas, so I doubt that would be the reason. It sounds tune related to me.

And there is also quite a few who have had theirs fail, even without e. I'm just gonna get the seals and make sure. Gonna get everything out of the way, won't cost much. If still happening after I will goto hpt if it can't be fixed by Vince.
