Hit a HUGE pothole

well i was comin back home from austin texas and i was driving over a little hill and rite as i come over it i see a HUGE pothole. i couldnt avoid it so i hit it. sounded ****** nasty. when i got home i lookd and no bent rim. but the front bumper is a lil fuckd up. rite under the headlight it has a little gap (drivers side) and a lil gap on the pass side as well. i think that some clips or something broke. and the bumper buckled very lil where it meets the drivers side fender. ill try to get some pics later. what should i do?

bump

Try to find out who is in charge of maintaining the road where the pothole was. Probably be what ever towns highway or transportation department. Document EVERYTHING. Take good pictures of the pothole to give an idea of the size it is. Take pictures of all the damage. Call up who ever is in charge of that stretch of road and tell them your vehicle suffered damages from the road not being maintained and the pothole not being filled. Make sure to mention you have documentation off all damages to your vehicle and the neglected roadway and ask if they will cover the damages. Probably wan't to get a general estimate before hand. Hmm maybe i can find the thread on a local forum here that a guy put together for a claim. It was step by step and worked out for him.

take a picture and get an estimate. go take a picture of the pot hole and the exact location. Get a hold of your state department of transportation and they should pay for the damages.
