Question Hole in Muffler After Only A Year

So I'm at steak n shake last night with my girlfriend. When get ready to leave, I start the car remotely. When we leave, as we're walking up to my car she says, " your car sounds funny." I dismissed it as being a normal cold engine noise since it was 9 degrees outside.

Well today, I remotely started the car from my apt. When I went out I saw a puddle of water under my muffler. I look under the car and my muffler is dripping water from the front side of it. I was like wtf? I wiped away the water, and sure enough there is a pinhole on the underside of my muffler....btw the car is only a year old with 12,000 miles....It is fairly low to the ground since I lowered the car so I'm thinking maybe I hit something. Tomorrow I'm gonna go to my stealership and see I can have it warrentied.

What do you guys think? Defect on the muffler or damage from an Impact?

It's quite normal for a muffler to have a pinhole in it. The pinhole's job is to do exactly as you described, let condensation drain from the muffler which prevents premature rustout.

I can't see a stainless steel exhaust rusting that fast, anywhere.
