holy shiat!, well i cleaned my rims today and found peeling and a permant lil stains on 2 rims i tried using a soft brush and it scratched my rims lol thats how friken CHEAP the paint is, as far as yer rims changin color, im lost, tobad they all didnt turn black, looks cool, raise hell buddy thats all u can do, or get them done properly outside of GM, thats what im doin over the winter.
The shop didnt use the correct paint on your wheel man. They messed up big time. give em hell. Even if you din't have to pay for the work out of your pocket the shop still got paid to do the job so that is what they should do. Thats the good thing about painted rims. If you get sick of them or they get messed up just re-paint them or paint them a diff color.
How hard would it be to use a DA sander/grinder and take the factory paint off and use like high heat ceramic paint on our wheels? I'v been thinking about doing that, because I don't want to spend the money to get 'em powder coated. See if you can get the shop to do it to your other wheels
they look sweet!
Question!
alrite...so i've been thinkin about this all night....sence one of my rims is black and i totaly LOVE IT can i some how make my others match? i'll be goin to my fav body shop tomorrow to inlist there help BUT does anbody know what it might take to get the paint of the rims????
Once the silver or "gun metal" was gone and on my rag the rim was black so if i can some how make the others match by getin the "gun metal" color of that would be SWEET!

I just got back from the DIY car wash, and some dude was there (in an SRT-4 of all things, with an exhaust louder than Blown-4-Banger's...), but anyway, he said that he used to do lots of detailing work, and what ruins the rims is that most tire / wheel cleaners are acid-based, which over time weakens and eats the paint off your wheels. The best way to clean them is with water and a soft cloth, then wash the rest of the car as normal.
wow..... i dont know what to say about that one.... the paint is chipping and flaking bad on all my rims now, and i am having them refinished at gm's expense very soon... i always washed them with soap and water, and then just used wax on them..... who knows good luck man
