I only use simple green to clean my wheels as, I have accidentially stripped the clearcoat off wheels before with wheel cleaner. That stuff is harsh!

The shop didnt use the correct paint on your wheel man. They messed up big time. give em hell. Even if you din't have to pay for the work out of your pocket the shop still got paid to do the job so that is what they should do. Thats the good thing about painted rims. If you get sick of them or they get messed up just re-paint them or paint them a diff color.

How hard would it be to use a DA sander/grinder and take the factory paint off and use like high heat ceramic paint on our wheels? I'v been thinking about doing that, because I don't want to spend the money to get 'em powder coated. See if you can get the shop to do it to your other wheels they look sweet!

I just got back from the DIY car wash, and some dude was there (in an SRT-4 of all things, with an exhaust louder than Blown-4-Banger's...), but anyway, he said that he used to do lots of detailing work, and what ruins the rims is that most tire / wheel cleaners are acid-based, which over time weakens and eats the paint off your wheels. The best way to clean them is with water and a soft cloth, then wash the rest of the car as normal.
