Thats f*cked up! I use Eagle One Wheel Cleaner and never had that problem. Maybe a friend mixed up some pretty black paint and put it in your EO Bottle! LOL! On a serious note though, our painted wheels suck! The were cheaply done. Mine aren't turning black but mine peeling and chipping bad(NOT From rocks either) and GM won't do SH*T! I've gone to a couple of dealerships,talked to Chevy Cust. Care. and now i had to file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. After I did this a GM rep. did contact me so we will see what happens. I SUGGEST EVERY SS OWNER TO REPORT ANY WHEEL PROBLEMS TO YOUR DEALERS AND KEEP MOVING UP THE CHAIN TILL WE GET GM TO HELP US OUT!

Gm is doin something, they are makin them a chrome finish lol, im done with GM on this issue, even if hey do redo it 99% of the time it wont be as good as stock and they will look like crap soon after. if u have the $$, powdercoat them.

well today i got it taken care of...
GM is going to replace my rim....the dealer ordered it around 11am
BUT does anybody know how might some one go about geting the paint of the rim so they all turn black????

I had some issues with mine, and since I had a mark on them that looks to be a scuff ( i honestly am not sure if I clipped something or not ), they said that all the marks looked to be the result of damage to the wheel finish, and would not replace them.
I would have no problems with them saying THAT wheel is your fault... you pay for it, but the others aren't from that. There is paint bubbling that is now popping open and peeling, and ther are still more bubbles waiting for their turn.
This finish on the wheels is very fragile, so be careful everyone. I'm getting aftermarket wheels later this summer anyway.

if you want the clear coat off, take it to a shop and have them do it... as for my opinion, a da sander with a 600 grit would prolly do the trick, even an 800, or wetsand them with a 400-600. dont use anything that is too abrassive as it will gouge the aluminum. as far as colors, you can do whatever you want, flat black, gloss black, using regular car paint. i suggest scuffing the paint up pretty good, and sanding any rough spots down. use a self etching primer, something that will bind itself to the metal really well, then spray 3-4 coats of paint, and 3-4 of clear, and allow adequate time between coats. not sure how long you should wait between paint and clear, depends on the paint and weather, but a body shop would know. After thats all done, use simply soap and water to wash them, and if they look dull, use car wax, or buff them even..... just my 2 cents... if it i didnt think it would look gay, i would do my rims keeping the gunmetal color spokes, but doing an arrival blue ring arounf the lip.... or something like that
