How do you clean the LSJ mass air flow sensor?

I've used the search tool for threads regarding cleaning the MAF, but I've found nothing specific enough in regards to how to actually clean it. I want to know what I'm supposed to be doing before I start messing with stuff on the car.

My car is having a problem going into limp mode under hard acceleration. I got the code scanned and it was related to the MAF, though I didn't bother to remember the exact code.

The most basic solution is to clean the MAF. Which is simple in theory. Get a can of CRC MAF Cleaner and spray the **** out of it.

Problem is, most MAFs look like this, and you spray it into the cylindrical part:

However, when I google what the LSJ MAF looks like, it apparently looks like this:

So, what am I doing exactly? Which part of this needs cleaning, and where am I directing my spray?

Clean both opening on the maf. Go to the auto store and by maf/ electrical cleaner. Just unplug your maf take it out. And spray it for about three secs at a pop about 2-3times and put it back in after a few mins. Pretty easy.

If it happens a lot. Have a tuner look at your tune. Your maf scaler/ feq might be off. Or you might have a bad maf.

When I got an intake (my first mod back in 2005) because the intake this happened to me. Try cleaning the maf first.

Just pull the sensor out and saturate the opening in short bursts. The can says like 10 times then just let it dry. It evaporates quickly so after like a minute it will be dry.

For the lsj I believe you have to remove the driver side headlight to get to it
