How to remove E brake boot?

How to remove E brake boot? I found the clip under it but i don't know which way to push the clip so I can remove the e-brake boot.

You should just be able to squeeze in on the sides near the top and bottom of the boot then pull up.

when I do a black clip/tab pops out on the bottom part on the e-brake preventing the rubber from sliding off. This e-brake on a 4dr LS. Not SS
