Humming from front passenger side

I am getting a humming sound and a little bit of viberation from what seems to be the front passenger side. I have low profile tires and I know there is some road noise with them but not this much. Anyone have this problem? If so what was it?

I don't want to be to quick to swing it into the dealer because of my mods. If it is nothing too expensive I will replace myself.

yeah that would be my first reply to

well i have some noise from my tires too, but i only get it at constant 65-160 MPH driving... (Highway or Interstate) and that’s normal. give a more explanation as to when its happening and for how long, what kind of roads your on, blah blah blah. all these things can make the diagnosis different.

lol.

The noise starts as soon as I begin to move and is more noticeable when coasting rather than accelerating. Also there is a very, very faint sound of a viberation. Can't really feel the viberation much though.

If the front passenger is a chick, then don't complain.

well my guess is wheel bearing, now i'm not sure if cobalts have a closed hub design but i'd pop off the tire and pull the bearing out to see if you have any shavings in the bearing grease, it will look glitery if you do. basicly when your wheel bearings do go bad they make a gorwling noise as if you hade mudder tires on your car. but thats my educated guess for your problem, because you said there is a vibration noise. and dont forget to repack your bearing even if you take it out, and handle it. oh and BTW if you do one wheel bearing you better do the other side to...

oh and i want to apologize for the immaturity everyone else is showing, and i hope that this helps with your problem

ball joint problems typically only happen when your making a hard turn. a really good way to test ball joints, or CV joints is to make hard donuts in reverse, by doing this you but a lot of stress on the cv joints and your should hear a constant popping noise on the load side of the turn.

Check the fender clearace to the A pillar at the highest point where they meet.
If its the same as mine you will see a spot where the paint is actually rubbing off where they are touching.(I at first thought it was my mirror vibrating at speed)
You could pull it a way alittle or have the dealer reinstall the little pad of calking that is not installed right or slide down that was put in there to stop that .
If this is your problem let me know

How many miles are on this vehicle? It could also be a bad wheel bearing / hub assembly, low on oil, uneven metal on metal contact will cause a vibration. If you take corners VERY hard very frequently, typically this can happen within 40 thousand miles. However, usually they go bad from sometimes 100+ thousand miles to not going bad ever, depending on vehicles. I don't know the specifics on cobalts, but I know I just did both wheelbearings on the front of my car, plus there's a bad rear right hub too.
