I goofed

Well, I have changed the oil in my car everytime since I have had it with no problems at all. Well this time I was distracted for some unkown reason and when I went to start my car up to cycle the new oil through, I left the oil cap off the motor. Engine and SC had a little bit of oil spots on it, some hit my hood but didnt look like to much. How much oil do you think I could have lost for about 30 seconds at idle? Has anyone else made this rookie mistake? It happens to the best of us. What do you think?

Shouldnt have been too much if any.
Especially if it was only 30 seconds.

haha, i'm sorry lambo, but that's a hell of a reason to replace an oil cap.

When I was 16, The first time I changed my own oil, you bet I made mistakes. I always leave my keys out of the ignition until I'm sure the jobs done before start up.

on an old escort I had, the damn seal from the filter I was taking off stuck on the block and I didn't realize it and put the new filter on. When I started it up oil poured out like a SOB....that's the only time that's ever happened, and always checked it from that point on....now of course it's not an issue.
