When I hit bumps or thick/uneven ice, I hear a thud under the car on the driver's side. before I go out in the freezing rain and look, does anyone know what it might be?

 

Damn! my car was doing that and they had to fix something in the strut, mine was really bad the colder it got. Sorry i cant remember what it was, its been a while ago.

 

would it be covered by warranty?

 

yea im pretty sure its the strut. and unless u got any aftermarket suspension products they should warranty it

 

Chunk of ice up in the wheel well ,have you cleaned them out.

 

not yet, it's been a few days, figured it if was ice, it would have fallen out by now. But I'll tomorrow, i'm still at work and it is pretty messy out there.

well, I finally got off my lazy ass and took it down to the dealer.
Cause: Bushing seperated (4X)
Correction: Check install New Left Front Lower Control Arm Bushing
Charge: $0

I got the same issue again. though this time the dealership says I'm past 60000kms and that sort of thing is not covered anymore, only drivetrain etc. Are they right and if so, what are my options to buy them myself and can I install them?

 

Sorry, they would be under the bumper to bumper warranty which, as you pointed out, has expired.

I know you can get the bushings, no idea if you need any special tools to change them though.

18 months and they are gone again? Yeeesh, I know your roads kinda suck but that is too much

 

All but one or 2 of the times I have gone in for an oil change it had to be replaced. they are bad here and maybe they use cheap parts?
