Ok my girlfriend has a completely stock 2.4 cobalt. She tried to start her car, but it wont. the radio goes on, the lights go on, the windshield wipers go on. However the car wont turn over. What could be the problem?

Try to jump start it. Accessories need less battery power than the starter does.

I had a problem similar to this. I'd try and try to start it and then finally it would start but it would take NUMEROUS tries first! I took it to the shop and they ended up having to reprogram the computer chip in the key and it hasn't happened since. I have a 2007

jump start it if it auto if its stick push start it. if it starts its the starter, if it starts and runs but dies shortly after perhaps battery or alternator. or other.

maybe the switch that the cluth touches when you depress it isnt engageing. push the clutch all the way in and make sure the switch is being depressed. maybe it is faulty. If it is an auto.

Auto: make sure the car is in park or neutral completely

Manual: make sure the clutch is all the way down

Good luck!
