Ignition Lock
Ignition Lock
So I have a cobalt LS coupe and the other day the ignition lock self destructed. It was a lot like when the steering wheel is locked and you cant turn you key but this time no matter what i did it wouldn't turn. I called up my service dept and they towed it for me to the shop. Long story short my car was in the shop for 2 weeks for them to figure out that they had to replace the enitre steering column. Not a bad deal though. They hooked me up with a rental car for the two weeks (2006 Grand Prix) so it wasn't too bad of a deal. They gave me no hassles with it and i am please with the service. The only beef I had with them were their dirty hands. I had to have my car detailed after they got dirt and grease everywhere in my car. Would it have been wrong of me to ask them to wash their hands before working on my car and how would i do this without being there at the shop to watch them. Oh well.
Always check your interior for grease marks before you leave the dealer. If you find any just tell them and most will take care of it. As for the washing hands thing. Um good luck.
those grand prix are awsome! i got a grand prix GT last month under warranty.....love the power and the supercharger...
btw i think it'll be impossible to ask them to wash their hands before working on ur car...
just have ur fingers crossed and hope they'll keep ur car clean. but from what ive heard it sounds like a good dealer.

i tell you what, they have been the most helpful dealer i have ever dealt with. they broke my door handle before i even bought the car and they fixed it no questions asked. and when they damaged the trim doing it, they payed a guy to fix the plastic like new. some appolstery guy. They aren't the most careful service shop but they fix their mistakes. I can't complain about that. And all and all, i've been very satisfied with the car. You can't expect benz E500 quality from a $12000 car so as long as you accept that its a good car. I'm sure that if i had made a big deal about the dirty interior they'd have paid for the detailing but i hate to screw a dealership that isn't screwing me.
