2010 LT 97k miles auto. Occasionally I get a whine that corresponds with engine RPM, but only above about 1200 RPM. Most of the time it's just loud enough to hear with the fans on, but the first time I heard the sound, it was 2 hours into a trip and it got slowly louder and louder until it was very concerning. I turned the engine off and back on and it was gone. No CELs at the time of first hearing, have since had a knock sensor wire ground on the oil filter housing but got that fixed recently, haven't heard it since but it's not a common sound and I dont think it would be related. Nothing noticeable different when it does this. Hopefully I've included enough information to get started, thanks in advance for your help.

 

Those types of sounds are tough to diag over the internet, and it could be one of several things.

One thing could be interference coming through the speakers; I've had a whining sound while charging my phone and using the 3.5mm jack for audio.
