Interior Trim Problems
The other week I took apart my interior trim pieces to install my XM radio... The parts I took off were all the silver parts...
Well they were tight and required some strenght to get the pins to come out.. Well everything was matched the right way and whatever before I took the stuff out.. Like now everything is a little loose.. Like when I touch my info button you can feel the panel move..
My question is.. Has anyone had this problem when taking the dash apart... and how did you fix it.. It's sorta annoying to me.. I mean I like stuff to be perfect.. And it sucks cause I mean I think about it sometimes and then I get all pissed that it's not like stock anymore lol.. I dunno why...
I have been told that GM may have some kind of order that the pins go in.. I dunno how tru this is.. Also I was thinkin about bending the clips out so the snap in harder.. But I dunno.. I wanna see what others have done..
Thanks

After I installed mine the faceplate moves inwards a little when you press on it. But not when I press any buttons, just when I press on the faceplate. I did notice however, that the 'seem' around the panel is fatter now (a little more space between the parts that were removable and the ones that weren't) and that bugs me a little. Everything did fit tighter before. That's the only thing I don't like about this GM car vs my Acura... the panelling and plastics and finish etc are really cheap/crappy in comparison and not as sturdy. But the rest of the car I'm very impressed with.
I doubt there's anything we can do to fix it now. If you do find out something, please let me know!

I dont know for sure if there is any type of order, but when I had my ignition cylinder replaced they took all of those dash pieces off to get to it. When I got it back it felt just like it did when I took it in. You should check with your dealer and see what they say, maybe they will tell you the trick.

Mine is the same way. I was thinking about pulling the panels back off(they pop off MUCH easier now) and buying new clips to hold them on.....I think the clips aren't as strong as they were.
