I've noticed quite often lately that when I shift into 2nd and 4th gear at WOT, it doesn't go into gear. It's almost like there is nothing there and I have the let the engine rev down before it goes into gear. I've never had any issues while driving normal. Any ideas??

i had the same problem its the shift linkage

 

Not sure but sounds like your clutch is going out.

Is this a common issue and something the dealer will know about if I take it in? Is it related to the cable?

I'd lean more towards this than the clutch since it only has 4,000 miles.

 

they just have to adjust it. at first i thought it was a safety thing (like to go in 1st you have to be goin less than 20mph so i let my dad try it and he said something was wrong. didnt even leave the parking lot and the tech said something was def wrong lol. takes a few hours to fix. just adjusts the cable

i dont think its common. but theyll figure it out....tell them whats wrong and im sure thats what theyll do.
