Issues with my lights at night!!help please.

I have an 05 ss/sc cobalt that recently i got pulled over for my taillights not being on at night, now just before i got pulled over my cluster lights went out, cluster still works, now i checked for burned out fuses and found none. now the funny part is my headlights still go on, my blinkers in the front still work and rear, as do my hazards, and my brake lights still work, just that the running lights at night wont light up the tails, no burn bulbs either. any ideals or parts things i should trouble shoot, i could use your info, only thing i can think of is that my turn signal switch on my steering wheel, for something internal went on that.

The fuse for the instrument cluster lights is in line with the fuse for the marker lights, this is done so that, if the marker lights go out the dash lights go out as well - you are more likely to notice no dash lights than no marker lights

Check the fuses again, would bet one is blown or not seated fully. They don't always "look" blown either, sometimes there is a very small (and hard to see) break in the conductor.

The fuse you likely want is labeled "PRK LAMP" in the under hood fuse box. Unless they have been used, there should be some spares in there as well, if not, grab some at your prefered auto parts place.

Never hurts to have spares, fuses seem to blow at the worst possible times.....

hold ur bulb like when ur running lights are on try and jiggle the bulb... i had a connector that was bent on my car( redline) but the brakes and turnsignal worked just like ur's but 1 of my running lights did not work it was the cause of a bad connection at the point where u plug in the bulb... althouh it seems u have a more difficult problem.. cant hurt to check.

as in switch you mean the switch on the steering wheel cause that was what o was thinking. but was trying to make sure there wasnt anything else before i bought a new one, i would of just swap out the one of my 09ss/tc to the 05 ss/sc but i cant for they changed the wiring from in 07

should be that one, or the wire from the switch to the lights could be damaged somehow. also check for corrosion in the fuses and all of the connections.
