Usually engines come with some type of warranty.

My buddy just replaced his engine with the Saab 9-3 motor (identical - only small modifications needed)

Can i drop in the whole saab motor. I've been reading that thread on super saab but how much of a pain is the wiring
saab motors are also alot easier to find as well as CHEAPER to buy from the junkyard

What wiring? just trade all your LSJ sensors over and plug in. Have to use LSJ coil packs (saab ones didnt provide spark)

Also drill out intake manifold holes for the larger LSJ bolts and shave down the nub that sticks out so the tensioner doesnt rub.

No. All sensors have plugs on them. Unplug them, pull motor, take sensors off old LSJ engine and install/replace on the saab engine, replug in once motor is installed.

its not an lk9 , its a b207 is the engine code.
one of the sce members swapped to the saab
engine and word on the street is that stg1 zzp
is the cams that is on the b207

he just have to grind a part of the engine so the
idler pulley doesnt grind on the engine.

which head flows better LSJ or b207r? and if i have LSJ cams/solid lifters could they fit into a b207r head? or just stay with my head

my Options have come down to.

Buy a LSJ motor for 1500-2k

Buy a B207r 600-800 .cheapest possible way

Buy B207r Plus build my LSJ head with cams, lifters, springs and swap, if possible, make decent power for price.

Get a shop to Rebuild my motor from ground up. 1800~$ thats with P&P and balancing.

I really just wanna get my cobalt up and running to enjoy it again.

trying to do this for UNDER 2k
