key fob not workin sometimes

unfortunately i only have one key fob for my car. And just starting today, the key fob doesnt work sometimes. If i havent used the car for awhile, the key fob wont work. But once i unlock the car with the key and put the key in the ignition, just putting it in the on position. I can turn it off, get out of the car, and the keyless entry will work perfectly, i can walk 50 feet away and it still works.

So why would the fob work after i put the key in the ignition but not after it hasnt been used for a bit? I know its a wierd problem and i have nooo idea what this could be.

I just had mine replaced under warranty since my car only has 14K miles on it. They said that they are cheaply made and that the contacts break off a lot of times and to be very carefull when you change out the battery. Mine worked off and on then it just stopped all together. They are about $115 from the dealer if you have to buy them so check for warranty first. I bought 2 off of ebay just in case mine stop working later on and I only paid $33 shipped for both of them but will still have to pay to get them programmed later down the road if I need them.

You'll likely need to resolder the battery clip. It is a common issue.

but does it suddenly fix as soon as i put the key in the ignition and take it out? See if it was randomly doing it, then i would think it, but puttin the key in the ignition has worked everytime.

idk it's way random. like 25% of the time it locks, 10% it unlocks, the rest ios with the key setting off the alarm. lol

Take it apart and check the battery connections are firmly soldered to the pcb, i had to resolder mine, and while your in there might as well change the battery.
