ok so i broke the only keyless entry that came with my balt. if i buy one off ebay, can i program it myself as i did for my previous car... did a few tricks with the key hit the button on the remote and it was programmed. or do i really have to buy the fob off of ebay and bring it to the dealer and ask them to install it? if i do infact have to bring it to the dealer, how much is it going to cost me? thanks guys

 

yeah sorry. you need to take it to the dealer. they got this special scanner thing that they plug in or something and it programs the remote for you. keys are easy to do yourself, but the keyless remotes can only be done by the dealer. i dunno about some locksmiths tho. maybe they can, don't quote me on that.

yeah ive been quite the nocturnal person lately. shitty. but i think i recall someone saying it was about $50. ridiculous i know. but hey, what do you expect from a dealer? what i was looking at on ebay were the key/keyless entry combos. its got that switchblade thing going on. it'll only work on the cobalts without that "+" sign on your key tho.

 

yea my key has the + on it so i guess its a nay nay on that note, but thanks man. ill get my pops gm discount i suppose for the 50 bucks which will make it 40, still too much but i have no choice.
