Lame... My fuel gauge died

I have an 07 LS, and last night after I parked my car at work it rained hard.
I started the car, drove a half mile and I hear the "bong" warning of I have "Low Fuel".
I just filled the tank the day before.

I thought, ah &*(^ great, someone syphoned my fuel while I was at work.

I pull over to refuel and it would only take 2.5 gallons no matter how many times I tried with the pump.

I restart the car, get the warning and the words "Low Fuel" sits there taunting me.

Also my range is messed up as it says I have 324 miles, yet when I drove home last night and to work today it is still 324.

I called the dealership and they believe the float is defective.
This is just great, they have to drop the tank and have the car for possibly 2 days.
INCONVIENCE...

My car only has 30k miles.

At least it is warrantied.

if it's still under warranty they'll likely give you a loaner car or rental, not that big a deal

try having your fuel pump die in canada, on sunday night, and monday is a holiday there... ya that sucked

My fuel gauge out of nowhere started working out of nowhere again.
Now I have to call off the appointment at the dealership.

My concern is, this is probably not something that will disappear permanantly.
Probably will happen when the odometer hits 100,000 and the warranty is up.
