Leaking Boost...I think?? Please Help...

I just recently switch back to the GM Stage 2, I have a 3 inch pulley, 42.5 injectors and the actually GM stage tune.....at WOT I only see 10 lbs of boost.....back in the day when I had only a 3 inch pulley and everything else was stocked, I saw 15 lbs of boost....and so I am clueless on what is wrong??? What would be the cause of this? What do I need to look for??? The car is running 10 times better NOW, than it did when I had my 2.7, 60's and spooner's tune.....and when I had my 2.7 on, I only saw 14 lbs of boost.....

Could it be my actuator??? or is my interceptor reading wrong?? Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks....

Rocky

It could be caused by knock. If you are getting retard then it could prevent the buildup of additional boost. Since you have the scan gauge scan for knock to see if that is the problem.

That is what we figured was wrong with my 2.7...I was getting as high as 11 degrees of knock with my 2.7 and 60's...but now with the GM Stage 2 tune, I shouldn't be seeing really any knock...especially since the min. octane for the Stage tune is 91....that is the reason why I went back to the stage tune....2.7/60's with 91 octane is a real bad idea....

but thanks for the opinion...

11* of knock! Holl **** batman!

*tucks head between legs and kisses the moon goodbye*

I am running 42's and a 2.7" (stupid idea, but my 60's are getting replaced by intense) and I am still only seeing 4* of knock. And as for the stage 2.......hahaha......that usually knocks about 6*, but you should still see more than 10psi boost. Still check your knock, GM tunes blow hard.

If you need a better tune, let me know I have a few saved that work wonders.

More than likely your MAF could be screwed up, not physically, but by calibration.

You are seeing 3 on average, and 4 at peak. But the 2.7" overworks the injectors to just over 100%.

In the case of the stage 2, that's a 3" pulley, so there is no problem with IDC going too high. It should be right around 80%. And the Stage tunes are for 93 octane, they are not properly adjusted for 91 octane.

So if the stage tunes are for 93 octane, then why does GM say to use minimum of 91 octane? Isn't 91 the highest you can get in AZ? Or can you guys get 93? PM sent about your tunes......

GM also says you can take a stock SS/SC and put regular gas in it too and be safe. But those things knock from the factory with premium fuel. That "Noticable loss of power" that the driver might experience is KNOCK RETARD, not a smart computer scaling it back for octane. GM seems to think knock retard is funny, because they treat it like a joke in these cars.
