It was a long time coming
Well... you gave it a god run Paul. You have safely figured out what a stock Ecotec is capable of. She was indeed a trooper, and even know her internals are going to be changed out, the block will still remain! Good luck with the new build buddy!
I can't wait to drop the motor and #1 see what type of damage I did, and #2 see what the clutch looks like now at 35,444 miles. (I drove it 200+ miles yesterday and I think thats what did it in)
this motor is only getting pistons valve springs, cams, nuetral balance shafts, head studs, and cometic head gasket. Money is really tight right now til my CD matures and I can pay the car off in one shot (only 3 more weeks woot) Other motor I got, I'll be picking up in about a week with the jeep and I'm going to start getting that one ready, maybe do a little overbore, sleeved, rods, pistons, port the head, and a few other little tricks to squeeze as much power as I can out of it. but I'm still worried about the trans, even though mine is a damn trooper, just like everything else on my car.

I hope you enjoy those pistons... I'm glad somebody will put them to use. It was down right sad to watch them just sit around my room for the last year.
GM DOES recommend new steel sleeves at like 450hp... you might wanna keep that in mind... as it gets VERY expensive when those say goodbye.

oh the last few months were fun as hell, but yeah I may just keep the car down a little longer and get it sleeved. Might as well since I've been pushing the hell out of it for so long now anyway.
anyone got the PN for the sleeve kit? might as well order that this week too on top of some other little parts.
**** I had my other set sitting at my house for over a year and just dropped em in trix's car, yours shall be put to use almost immediatly lol and will be in one of the higher Hp'd street drivin cobalts

damn i can't believe it held so long, good luck on the rebuild. you did some amazing stuff with that motor allready. i can't wait to see what you can do with a fully built motor!
paul was at 411 for a while...mine made it about a 5-6 days at 426 (63K on engine!) so i'd say about 400 on stock engine (on a vary well developed tune) is about the limit.
paul, did you get my info on the need for sleeves...or the lack there of?

and the car is still running fine............. still tearing it down next week. I can't believe it's stil holding together. Did some hard pulls on it (no homo) this weekend, she took it like a champ.
well after a retarded amount of time, the ******* jeep is just about done, finally drove out of the shop under it's own power. Need to finish some little detail bullshit on it, but hopefully I can drive it home tonight. Then it's on for the cobalt build woot!
