Insanely loud ticking - YouTube
Could it be the lifters? I just bought some so I sure hope that's the problem.

You can try some seafoam in the oil for a couple hundred miles then change the oil with something thicker. I always use 20w50 or 15w40. Not as good on gas but better for engines. The seafoam might clean them up though. I did this when I had lifter tick in the Dsm and it went away.

I have tried seafoam and I have also but that additive that GM sells for this problem. When it warms up it does quiet down but I can still kind of hear it. I am currently putting the car back to stock so that I can sell it. I don't want to sell it sounding like a time bomb. Haha.

My new to me ported head with brand new lifters is doing the same, just a bit quieter. I'm pretty sure it is cylinder 3 intake side judging by my ears. Quiets down after warmup, but most noticeable at lower speeds no matter how warm, can really hear it when idling through parking lots.

if only these cars came with an oil pressure gauge. your oil pump may be on its way out starving the lifters. any codes? ever see the oil pressure light? you may be able to rent an oil pressure gauge. also try draining some of the oil and see if there is any metal.

Sorry, I have already sold the TVS and there is no metal in the oil. As soon as I get the new lifters I will let you know if that will fix it. It did that to me after parking the car for the winter, so, I'm assuming I dried the lifter up. I always started the car though.
