Low Coolant Light
Low Coolant Light
So for the past few months I've been having my low coolant light come on every couple of weeks. I searched this section and found that most people bringing it in were getting told it was nothing. Well last week my low coolant light started coming on every day seeing that I was loosing about a gallon a day. My radiator cracked. I called the dealership last week to see when they could get me in. They said bring it in asap. I brought my car in Thursday about 3 p.m.. I call the service department back Friday around 2 p.m. to check the status of my car and was told they haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet call back in a few hours. I call back at 4 and was told they just got it on a lift but hadn't looked at it. I explain how I need a car for work and school, I was told I can pick mine up and they would leave the ticket open. My response was that it was leaking too much coolant to drive. I am then told by one of the service writers that it might be a good idea to let it sit over the weekend seeing that I wouldn't want to run a supercharged car with low coolant (who would have thought. I explain again that I need a car though and again I am told I can pick it up. I ask to speak to the service supervisor. He agrees to give me a rental until mine is fixed (sounds good), but when I ask for a ride he tells me the shuttle wont be in my area for the rest of the day. Again I explain that I have no car. I am then told if I can find a way to the dealership that the rental company would pick me up from there. I call my friend and get a ride to the dealership, when I arrive I am told that they forgot to call Enterprise to pick me up. At this point I'm getting a little pissed so I tell them I don't need them to pick me up my friend will drop me off. I finally get the damn rental car that I've been needing. Well today rolls around. About 10:30 this morning I get a call from the dealership saying that they can't warranty my car because I had been in a front end collision (never have though) and that I would hae to pay for my rental. I tell them to keep it on the lift because I want to look at it. I get down there and talk to the shop foreman who was the genius who came to the conclusion my car had been totaled. I ask why he thinks it had been totaled. I am told because my lip is scraped, because my bumper was out of alignment, my headlights were re-sealed, the paint on my bumper wasn't the same shade as the rest of my car and There was a spot where it looked like primer. I explain that my lip is scraped because my car scrapes on steep parking lot entrances, my bumper was out of alignment when I bought the car (I tried to get that fixed before but was told that since all cobalt has a problem with the bumper being off that they wouldn't fix it), my headlights were re-sealed because I painted then, my bumper wasn't quite the same shade when I bought the car ( I told him to warranty that while he was at it since he thought it looked like ****), and the spot he thought was primer was wax. So at this point I'm about sick of dealing with the dumb ***** at the dealership. I explain that if they want to try and play warranty games that I would be more than happy to contact my mechanic, lawyer, and GM's corporate office. Finally I get the retards to agree to take a look at the car. Well this afternoon I get a call back from the service department informing me that they have agreed to warranty my car. I ******* can't stand the poor practice at most dealerships

i hate dealerships if they'd just warranty the stupid car then they might just get more customers because of word of mouth and returning car buyers. customer service is a key business ingredient. doesn't take a genius to figure that out. it hurts them way more than it helps to play warranty games
