Low Fuel Warning

So,

Knowing the car was a bit low on fuel, I set the display to show miles remaining and drove to work 15 miles. Gauge was right at 1/8 tank.
When I left, it said 55 miles. A short while later, it said 51 miles. Then back to 55 miles. Then to 47 miles. Next came the low fuel warning and the gauge was at empty???
Mostly all level ground stop and go morning traffic.

So, better go fill it up at lunch to avoid the hassle of doing it on the way home. Fire the car up, fuel gauge is at 1/8, and the readout says 55 miles left???

I'm thinking the fuel gauge don't know Jack! Nor does the display.

Cruise Control quit again as well.

A little tired of taking the car to the dealer.......it's a hassle!

Once you get below ~40 miles left, the gauge will read empty and you'll start getting your low fuel warnings. You still have 40 miles left, but it's letting you know that there's no extra reserve hiding anywhere.

Either a computer issue or a problem with a switch near the clutch more than likely.

I think the less gas there is remaining in the tank, the less accurate the display is. All cars are like that.

I'll check the owners manual and see what it says about the low fuel warning.
i'd prefer the gauge not going to zero suddenly when there is fuel in the tank.

Cruise control? Sounds like some folks have simply reset the ECM. The dealer replaced the clutch switch a few weeks ago.

I know for mine the low fuel warning usually comes on when about 2 gallons are left... or when it says i have 50 miles left to go.
