my son has a 2006 lsj. a mechanic friend has just recenltly completed an engine swap, but has now gone AWOL for the last month without completing the job. i have been able to finish the job, however there are a few ground locations that i cannot find. i have searched everywhere for a ground location diagram or picture with no luck.
the two wires in question are the large ground located behind the driver side headlight. where does this ground go??
the other is the two ground hoops that originate in the wire harness that feeds to the electric fans behind the radiator.
i have attaced a couple of pics, hope you guys can help me out.
Sorry, I had responded but now I understand your question. I don't know, I'd have to look.
The second one I believe is attached to one of the bell housing bolts. Should be the top one closest to the forward of the car. It's been 3.5 years since I did this, but I'm pretty sure that's them.
BTW, I didn't tighten the second one well and it caused me all sorts of fits till I figured it out.
Did anyone figure out where that frame wire goes? Having the same issue. From what I know there are no wires that articulate to the bellhousing and I've been searching the forums for days now with no luck.
There is a main engine ground wire that runs from the front of the transmission case to the frame. Its wrapped with the main starter cable for a short section along the front of the trans. Here is the ground views. First pic is the trans side, #3 is the bolt that holds the two ground eyelets, the one on the right is the cable that goes to the frame. The next pic is the frame connection, #4 in the pic. It goes on top of the frame rail on the drivers side. Should be below the abs module. if you look at #5 in the lower pic you will see the highlighted section where the ground cable is wrapped with the starter cable. Should be able to see it easily and follow it over to the frame/trans.
