Hey guys tonight I revved my engine up pretty high and then when it came back down my car started shuttering where it was idling below 1 very abruptly and the car was shaking and making noises like it was out of gas. I shut it off and turned it on a couple times and it finally went back to normal. During the time where it was shuttering i couldnt drive forward in 1st gear it wouldnt let me go anywhere. Im just wondering if there is something wrong with my car and what it could be? My car is completely fine now I have no loss in power it pulls exactly like it used to just that 5 minute time period that it did that. let me know guys.

 

uh yeah, this happened to me couple weeks ago, but i was driving mine. i had just turned a corner and shifted into 3rd when it did it and it said "Eng Pwr Reduced" or something like that and i had to put it in neutral and glide to the side, i let it sit for a few min, cranked it back up and it was fine.. cel came on, but went off bout 15 min later. not sure what it was tho...
the whole front of the car was i guess you could say shaking real bad, not sure really how to describe it, but i had my dads mechanic look at it and nothing turned up so idk
but my cars been fine since, nothing wrong.

 

yea its really hard to explain but the whole front end just shakes uncontrollably the only thing I didnt get was a cel or the eng power reduced light.

 

well where it normally says information ex "DOOR AJAR" it said "ENG PWR REDUCED" or something along those lines.
but im with ya, im not sure what it was but i would like to know if anyone else would like to chime in on this..

well if its a shaky idle.. which you can also feel physically, it may be the throttle body needs cleaning..

but if you say it also wouldn't even let you go forward in 1st gear then it's probably something other than that......

 

How did you rev the engine high? Did you miss a gear or were you revving just for the hell of revving?

 

I revved the engine in a mall to hear how it sounded lol and that never happened before I was like wtf is going on
