Lug Bolt

What should I do when one of my Lug Nuts tore the bolt right out of the car???
Shouldnt they be able to handle alot of **** since they CARRY the weight of the car?!?!?!

knock it out with a punch and go to a parts house for a replacement, if it is gnarled, you should be able to start it through the hole and put 4 or 5 washers on it and tighten the lug nut on with a wrench to pull it through. do not use an impact. you will fudge the hole in th rotor up if it get crooked.

I wouldnt drive it anymore with it missing. You can try to punch it through from the outside in. but i would take it into the dealership and have them do it. That would be a warrenty issue and they cant say that your wheels caused it.

What if they try to blame it on me? I think its pretty pathetic that it broke and all i was using was a normal ratchet and my HAND. I hope they dont try to make me pay for it

Your car will be ok with just 3 bolts for the moment. I can only guess without seeing it, but the scraping noise that is progressively getting louder would have to the bolt working itself loose from the hole and trying to fall out the hub side of the wheel. It can't, because it scrapes against the back side of the hub. Replacing, or even just removing it temporarily, means taking the wheel, brake, and rotor off to gain access. Not hard, but a little time consuming.

Yeah, the lugs just got loose, i tightedned the **** out of them as best i could with a handheld ratchet and its fine now, I'm taking it in for the front wheels to get the springs installed, tire rotation and an alignment, and i'll have them replace it, at least its not making that god awful noise anymore and i can sleep soundly

The bolts holding that strut in place were F***ing crazy, i couldnt even get them to budge with two people an air ratchet and a hammer

Yea, so i gave up on the front and did the back, the back has settled down to about .3-.4 inches of clearance, i love it

The car is so low now

I said i checked and the lugs just loosed the **** out and i just tightened them as tight as i could get the 3 and its gone now, i actually went around and tightened all the bolts again, but the 3 on that wheel were insanely loose, its a good thing i tried tightning them, they were almost completely off the bolts
