maintenance schedule

i had the same question, my local chevy dealer told me something like 30k 60k 90k... that could just be them or? but he said it was alot of uneeded crap, so im just doing oil changes every 3k and gettin my tranny fluid swaped at 50k... and the other important stuff for the life of the car.
Most Chevy or other GM dealers have Maint 1, 2 and 3 service intervals. It's not the dealer who makes these up, but GM who figures these are the intervals which make cars last longer and to optimize the life of the car.
Maint 1 consists of: Lof, rotate and balance and check the car over. (Every 6k miles)
Maint. 2 consists of: Lof, rotate and balance, fuel filter replacement or throttle body cleaning and check the car over. (Every 12k miles)
Maint 3 consists of: Lof, rotate and balance, air filter replacement, cabin air filter replacement, fuel filter replacement or throttle body cleaning, coolant flush, transmission flush (auto trans), clean entire fuel system and check entire car over. (Every 30k miles)
Dealers will mention to you to follow this intervals and give you a booklet which shows little x's indicating what each of these that are performed.
If I may have left a few things out, someone will chime in and add them.
