I was thinking about running the silencer in my exhaust for long road trips.

How much do you think my gas mileage will be hurt?

Also, will it have negative affects on the engine like too much back pressure?

Last but not least, has anyone tried drilling a few more holes in the end of the silencer to increase flow without increasing sound much?

It's really quiet with the silencer in.

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine

and no a silencer won't have an affect on your gas milage.

well it reduces down to a 1.5 inch hole. So it's a pretty big restriction.

then dont run the silencer if you dont want to. The silencer isnt going to blow up your car.
